There is no right or wrong in this decision its entirely personal, some of the most beautiful keepsakes I have created have come from different colours & opals etc that I would have never have thought about putting together, that's one of the most wonderful things that makes a keepsake so personal.

A Gentle Guide to Emotional Meaning and Personal Connection

Colour speaks in ways words often can’t. It can soothe, honour, remember, and reflect. At Jasper’s Creations, we invite you to choose colours not just for beauty—but for meaning.

Whether you’re creating a keepsake for a loved one, a beloved pet, or a moment that changed you, this guide offers gentle reflections to help you choose what feels right.

Start with Emotion

Ask yourself: What feeling do I want this piece to carry?

  • Soft blues may evoke calm, peace, and quiet remembrance

  • Lavenders and purples often speak to spirituality, dignity, and transformation

  • Greens can represent renewal, nature, and grounding

  • Pinks may reflect tenderness, love, and gentle connection

  • Whites and creams offer purity, simplicity, and light

  • Greys and silvers can hold sorrow, strength, and timelessness

  • Golds may symbolize legacy, warmth, and enduring love

There’s no formula—only feeling. Let your heart guide you, and if you do not see the colour you would like just ask, as I can always make the colour you want, all you have to do is ask.

Consider the Personality You’re Honouring

Was your loved one vibrant and joyful? Quiet and thoughtful? Playful, spiritual, earthy?

Choosing colours that reflect their essence can make your keepsake feel even more personal.

  • A bright soul might be honoured with warm tones or shimmering accents

  • A gentle spirit may be reflected in soft neutrals or muted hues

  • A nature lover might be remembered through greens, browns, or sky tones

Symbolism in Colour

Some people choose colours based on symbolic meaning. Here are a few gentle associations to guide your choice:

  • Blue – peace, trust, eternity

  • Purple – remembrance, dignity, transformation

  • White – purity, spirit, light

  • Green – healing, nature, renewal

  • Pink – love, compassion, softness

  • Grey – sorrow, strength, stillness

  • Gold – legacy, honour, warmth

  • Red – deep love, passion, courage, and vitality

  • Black – mourning, mystery, protection, and timelessness

  • Yellow – hope, warmth, friendship, and light

  • Orange – energy, creativity, and celebration of life

You might choose one colour—or blend several to reflect a layered story. Some clients find comfort in combining a loved one’s favourite colour with a symbolic hue that reflects their spirit or journey.

You Can Always Ask for Guidance

If you’re unsure, we’re here to help. Whether you want to match a favourite colour, evoke a feeling, or simply explore what’s possible, we’ll walk with you through the decision.
